Sandy and pebbly beaches
If you seek for relaxation during your holidays in Amorgos, there is a considerable number of both sandy and pebbly beaches.
Aegiali beach
The longest beach on the island, sheltered and well organized, with shallow waters favored by families.
The beaches of Levrossos, Psili Ammos and Chochlakas
The beaches of Levrossos, Psili Ammos and Chochlakas are located close to each other and are only accessible by boat or trail.
Agios Pavlos beach
A long sand beach between Katapola and Aegiali.
Nikouria
Just outside the bay of Aegiali, the inhabited islet of Nikouria has three sandy beaches with calm and clean waters. There is no shade though. You can arrive by boat from Agios Pavlos.
Agia Anna beach
A beautiful beach located very close to Chora, only some steps away from the monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa, the most important sight of Amorgos. It is a small rocky beach that stands out for its spectacular beauty and known from the scenes of “The Big Blue” movie.
Mouros beach
This amazing pebbly beach is situated near the village of Vroutsi.
Kalotaritissa beach
A fairly long beach located in the southern part of Amorgos island. Kalotaritissa is a typical beach with plenty of shade, accessible by car, and one can catch a glimpse of numerous fishing boats. The sea is sparkling and clear.
